What's included in the free plan?+

Up to 2 rooms, unlimited tenants, monthly auto-billing, the dashboard, on-screen reports, and move-in anniversary alerts. No credit card required, no time limit. The tenant self-service portal, WhatsApp reminders, PDF receipts and CSV exports are included on every paid plan — the paid plans differ only by how many rooms they cover.

What is the founding member offer, and how is it different from the free plan?+

They stack. The free plan is what every landlord gets by default. On top of that, while EasyRent is in beta, the first 30 landlords to sign up keep full Pro access — unlimited rooms, WhatsApp reminders, PDF receipts, advanced analytics — free for life, with no expiry date. Once we reach 30 landlords, new signups start on the free plan instead.

    Do I need a WhatsApp Business API to send reminders?+

    No. EasyRent supports two modes: Direct (scan a QR with your phone — free, works in minutes) or Meta Cloud API (official, paid per message, recommended for larger volumes). Switch between them anytime from the admin panel.

    Can I export my data if I leave?+

    Yes — anytime, on every plan including Free. There's a one-click JSON backup of everything (rooms, tenants, payments, expenses, charges, settings). Pro adds CSV exports of Summary, Payments, Expenses, and Tenants on the Reports page. Your data is yours.

    Is my data secure?+

    Yes. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed, sessions are httpOnly cookies with sliding expiry, every database query is scoped to your account, and the tenant portal token never persists in the URL after the first click. Full security details in the README.

    Can my tenants pay through the app?+

    Not directly — EasyRent isn't a payment processor. Tenants pay you the way they already do (cash, eSewa, bank transfer, etc.) and you record it. They can see their balance, history, and receipts in the portal, and you can attach a QR code to receipts so they can scan and pay.

    Can I cancel anytime?+

    Yes. The free tier is free forever — no time limit, no card on file — and paid plans are billed yearly. If you don't renew, your account drops back to the free tier (up to 2 rooms) — you keep all your data and your tenants keep portal access.
